 Mission statement:

The Jordanian Corporate Governance Association (JCGA) is an independent, non-profit membership organisation dedicated to working with investors, companies and regulators in the implementation of effective corporate governance practices throughout Jordan. JCGA was founded in 2005 from a belief that corporate governance is fundamental to the long-term development of Jordan's economy and capital market.

 Events will be covered by media, two of the establishing members are from the media. Moreover, a weekly article in the local newspapers (English and Arabic) will be published aiming at raising awareness to CG principles then develop to CG issues.

 Strategy Objectives:

  1. Short Term: conducting surveys, raising awareness workshops, and establishing a wide membership base.

  2. Long Term: coalition building, advocacy, consultancy work, seminars, conferences and workshops.

 CG Promotion: by engaging the companies in dialogue to define where are the difficulties in adopting CG, finding means to overcome difficulties, consultancy work, then providing incentives (ex: best governed company of the year award, website links, identifying potential investors and introducing them to best company…etc).

The Association’s Objectives:

  • Raising awareness to corporate governance and the importance to adherence to its principles



  • Working towards the application of CG principles, more specifically, the OECD’s principles of CG



  • Putting forward CG laws and regulations that correspond to domestic laws and regulations and furthering the work with CG principles



  • Enhancing the professional level of all sectors and modernization of its operations to conform with international CG practices and OECD’s principles



  • Establishing a working relationship with CG associations in the region and internationally



  • Working with related institutions to develop the human resource element to serve all sectors



  • Opening new horizons for businessmen through increased investments, private sector development, enhanced competitiveness and rising confidence in the economy



  • Aiming at developing the association to become a knowledge hub at the domestic, regional and international level in all business and company matters



  • Publishing a CG guide that can be practiced in Jordan



  • Working towards serving and developing CG with both public and private institutions



  • Deliberating on common problems among members companies activities and finding solutions through CG practices



  • Exchange of information and expertise to raise the work level of member companies thus serving the common goals of the association members



  • Establishing and managing CG training centers that aim at raising awareness



  • Holding CG seminars and conferences and participating in ones held in the region or internationally



  • Conduct a field survey and consultation with public opinion to assess the challenges & opportunities of applying CG principles at the domestic level
